After the retirement of Mama K and the Big Love, 6 of the 8 Big Love members formed the exciting new band, The DK Effect.

The new 8-piece band’s exquisite vocal and focal trinity (Crystal Campbell, Ruby Austin-Lund and Belle Richardson) are a veritable tour-de-force, while the soulful and funky grooves are provided by Al Tolond (drums), Aleks Folvig (guitar and vocals), Randal Muir (keys), David Johnstone (bass) and Jed Adams (sax).

Their songs focus on melody and storytelling and are saturated with funky grooves and the polyrhythmic ‘call and response’ vocal synchronicity of gospel music.
