direct licensing policy

1.         Direct Licensing Policy

1.1     Mama K and the Big Love do not currently have the capacity to directly license any of our sound recordings, music videos or associated artwork / graphics for public performance or transmission.

1.2     The legal and administrative costs involved with direct licensing dictate that we are unable to offer direct licences at competitive rates for public performance or transmission. We will review our position every 12 months to consider whether to update our policy and engage in direct licensing.

1.3     Should you require a licence for the public performance or transmission for any of the Mama K and the Big Love artistic output (sound recordings, music videos or associated artwork / graphics) via a webcasting service, interactive webcasting service or broadcast service within Australia, you should contact the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) or call (02) 8569 1111.

1.4     PPCA licensing covers broadcast within Australia, including the rights to communicate a sound recording from Australia via simulcast into one or more countries or territories governed by the IFPI (International Federation of Phonographic Industry). For licensing for broadcast within one of the IFPI territories outside of Australia, please email: mamakan@mamakandthebiglove.com

1.5     The PPCA grants licences for sound recordings and music videos to various businesses and for various purposes – including: radio stations, television stations, restaurants and cafes, schools, colleges and universities, nightclubs, concert venues, festivals, hotels, gyms and fitness centres, community halls, galleries and others.

 2.         Other uses of the Mama K and the Big Love artistic output

2.1     To obtain a licence to use Mama K and the Big Love songs (music and / or lyrics (C) & (P) D Johnstone) contact APRA/AMCOS (Australasian Performing Rights Association / Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society).
